Looking for something fun to do in Bryson City on Halloween?
This small really knows how to celebrate! It has been a long summer season and folks are ready to let their hair down and have a good time. If you are looking for some autumn revelry, there are plenty of great options to choose from in Bryson City. Here are a few of our favorites:
Downtown Trick or Treat in Bryson City. Put on your favorite costume and head downtown from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, October 29th. The streets are blocked off downtown and the local businesses hand out candy to passers-by.
Visit Darnell Farms to enjoy an old-fashioned hayride and a trip through the Haunted Corn Maze. This is one of our favorite local traditions – lots of fun!
Listen to Spooky Tales of the Southern Highlands at the Storytelling Center of the Southern Appalachians Thursday-Saturday at 8p.m.
Take the kids on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad Peanuts Pumpkin Patch Express. They will love riding the train in their Halloween costume to the Great Pumpkin Patch where they will enjoy trick or treating, a bouncy house, roasting marshmallows and much more. Each child will also get to select their own pumpkin to take home. Don’t have kids? Ride the Fall Foliage train to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the fall colors that are peaking this week.
Visit the Nantahala Brewing Company for the annual Witch’s Brew Release and Halloween Party. The kegs are tapped at 6p.m. on Saturday, October 31st. The live music is great and the beer is amazing. This year’s Witch’s Brew has been, ahem, “brewing” for three years and according to brewery staff, is “Ghoulishly Intoxicating”! Come dressed up or just show up as yourself and get ready for some great music and fabulous beer!
However you choose to celebrate this weekend, just make sure you stay safe and have a designated driver. We know you will love the time you spend in Bryson City and at your Watershed Cabin.
