Guest Appreciation Festival this Weekend at Nantahala Outdoor Center

NOC Guest Appreciation FestivalIt’s that time of year again! This weekend, Nantahala Outdoor Center will host their annual Guest Appreciation Festival featuring tons of fun activities, great deals on new and used gear, arts and crafts, lots of great bands and of course, the famous Gear Marketplace.

If you have never been to GAF, as it is affectionately called, you are in for a treat! Nowhere will you find an outdoor gear sale like this! You can find amazing deals on this year’s outdoor gear and apparel at the Outfitter’s store. Or, you can stroll on over to the Marketplace which is like a giant yard sale – but with kayaks, backpacks, camping equipment and outdoor clothing. Got gear you want to trade for something else? Bring it on over to the Gear Swap area and see what you can exchange it for! And that’s just the shopping – there are tons of fun activities going on throughout the weekend, as well, including lots of great stuff to keep the kids entertained.

The fun starts on Friday morning at 8 a.m. and goes through Sunday afternoon. For more information about NOC’s Guest Appreciation Festival and for a schedule of events, click here.

GAF Bike Trials: Test your skills on two wheels. Or watch in amazement as pro-riders hop, balance and climb unimaginable obstacles across NOC campus.

Nantahala Outdoor Center is located on US Highway 19 just a few miles west of Bryson City. It is just a short drive from your Watershed Cabin. Plan to park offsite and catch a shuttle to NOC. Parking areas will be clearly marked and shuttles run every few minutes but it is wise to make sure to leave valuables at the cabin and to bring along any medication you may need while you are away from your vehicle. Oh, and wear sunscreen! See you there this weekend!
