Cherokee Lights and Legends

cherokee lights and legendsThere is a new festival in the area this year that celebrates the holiday season as well as our local culture. Cherokee Lights and Legends features a light show designed to reflect Cherokee stories that were traditionally told during the winter months. There will also be an ice skating rink, carnival rides, a holiday bazaar featuring local craftsmen, local food vendors and, of course, Santa Claus.

The annual holiday celebration will be held Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:00pm – 9:00 pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 5:00-10:00pm through January 3, 2015. The event will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and will open longer hours on New Year’s Eve from 5:00 p.m.-12:30 a.m. and will feature New Year’s Eve fireworks.

Admission: Adults 13 years and older $5, children ages 6-12 $3 and children 5 and under free. The cost of admission includes the light show and nightly entertainment.

The event is being held at the Cherokee Indian Fairgrounds in downtown Cherokee.  Cherokee is only 10 miles east of Bryson City, just a short drive from your Watershed Cabin.
